When experiencing sluggish acceleration, increased engine noise, severe cases may exhibit unstable idling and engine vibration, these are indicators that the throttle body may need cleaning. Below is more information about the throttle body: 1. Precautions for throttle body maintenance: (1) Avoid using highly corrosive cleaning agents. (2) Develop proper driving habits and refrain from using low-quality gasoline. 2. Definition of throttle body: The throttle body is a controllable valve that regulates air intake into the engine. After entering the intake manifold, the air mixes with gasoline to form a combustible mixture, which then ignites to generate power. Positioned between the air filter and the engine block, it is often referred to as the throat of the automobile engine.

I recently noticed a significant increase in fuel consumption while driving, costing me several hundred yuan more per month on gas. Moreover, the tachometer needle keeps jumping erratically at idle, feeling unstable. The car responds sluggishly during acceleration, requiring me to press the gas pedal hard to get moving. Sometimes, it even has trouble starting when cold. These symptoms could all be caused by a dirty throttle body, where accumulated oil deposits block the airflow. I recommend regularly checking your car's condition to prevent minor issues from turning into major problems. Additionally, if any warning lights come on, such as the engine check light, prioritize checking the throttle body. Generally, cleaning it every 20,000 kilometers or so can help prevent these issues.

As someone who enjoys doing some car maintenance myself, I would first check if the car has any jerking sensations during low-speed driving or if there's a slow throttle response when starting. If these signs are present, I would open the hood, remove the intake hose, and directly observe the inside of the throttle body. If I see black, greasy carbon deposits, it's time for a timely cleaning. I've also noticed that oil quality and environmental factors can affect the rate of carbon buildup, such as driving in dusty areas making the engine dirtier more quickly. Preventatively cleaning it isn't costly and is much better than waiting until the engine starts shaking or stalling. Those with good DIY skills can buy cleaner and handle it themselves.

What to Do When a Car Rolls Over?

Solutions for when a car rolls over: 1. Stay calm and avoid making fatal mistakes due to excessive panic; 2. Immediately turn off the engine to prevent hazards such as fire or explosion; 3. Adjust your position, unbuckle the seatbelt, and lower your body. If you cannot open the door, you can choose to break the side window to escape. When striking the side window, aim for the edges of the glass rather than the center; 4. After escaping, do not rush out of the car recklessly. First, observe the surroundings and ensure it is safe before exiting, especially on highways. Make sure to move outside the guardrail and stay as far away from the accident scene as possible to ensure your safety and avoid secondary accidents.

How to Use the Manual Mode in a Tiptronic Transmission?

Can You Shift from D to S Gear While Driving an Automatic Car?

Automatic cars can shift from D to S gear while driving without the need to press the brake or come to a stop. The D gear is the drive gear, where the vehicle prioritizes comfort and fuel efficiency. The S gear is the sport mode, which focuses on high performance. When shifted into S gear, the transmission delays upshifting to allow the engine to deliver greater power. Situations where S gear is not suitable include: 1. High-speed driving is not ideal for S gear, as it is designed to downshift for acceleration, leading to mismatched speed and RPM, increased noise, and higher fuel consumption; 2. Coasting is not recommended in S gear, as it can cause significant wear and tear on the transmission in a short period.
