How to Determine if the Transmission is Damaged?

If you feel obvious jerks or shaking during gear shifting, it indicates a transmission malfunction. Below are the symptoms and solutions for a damaged transmission: 1. Transmission slipping: While driving, if you hear the engine revving without significant acceleration, experience weak acceleration or uphill struggles, or notice abnormally high engine RPMs while driving normally on flat roads, be cautious. This could be caused by excessively high hydraulic oil levels, excessive foam production from violent stirring by planetary gears, or worn/burnt clutch or brake friction pads/bands. In such cases, pull over and wait for assistance to prevent further damage. 2. Transmission oil leakage: You may notice difficulty when starting the car, and although the engine RPM increases when pressing the accelerator, there's no significant speed gain. The culprit might be oil leakage. Insufficient lubrication inside the transmission due to leakage can prevent proper operation. This situation is relatively simple to fix—just replace the transmission fluid.
