How to Determine if a Motorcycle Relay is Faulty?
1 Answers
Generally, a motorcycle has two turn signal relays and a starter relay. Below are specific methods to determine if a motorcycle relay is faulty: Method 1: The lights are dim or do not turn on. The motorcycle cannot be started using electric ignition. Method 2: Check for voltage changes. If the voltage remains unchanged as the RPM increases, it is normal. Method 3: Engine starting. If the positive terminal of the battery is disconnected and the engine does not stall, but the circuit voltage exceeds 14.5 volts or even reaches above 18 volts, then the rectifier is faulty. If the engine stalls after disconnecting the positive terminal of the battery, the rectifier is faulty and must be replaced.
