How to Defrost Car Windows?

Here are methods to defrost car windows: 1. After starting the car, turn on the air conditioning defogging function to blow away the frost on the windows. 2. Purchase a defogging spray and apply it to the inner surface of the windows to prevent frost formation. One application of the defogging spray can prevent fogging for about ten days. 3. Use warm air to melt the ice. Start the car, and once the engine's water temperature rises, use warm air to blow on the windshield until the ice melts. However, this method has some drawbacks, such as being time-consuming, labor-intensive, and fuel-consuming. If it doesn't rain or snow after parking, wiping the water off the windshield can prevent it from freezing again. 2. Physical ice removal. Car owners can prepare a hard plastic scraper or use a specialized glass frost scraper, which is more convenient, faster, and doesn't freeze hands. When there is snow or ice on the windows, use the plastic scraper or glass frost scraper to remove it. However, be careful not to scratch the glass; avoid scraping back and forth—instead, push in the same direction. 3. Chemical ice removal. There is a spray de-icer available on the market, specifically designed for thawing frozen windows and wipers. It is a high-speed anti-ice spray concentrate that doesn't damage the car's surface and prevents re-freezing and dirt accumulation. It can easily remove ice and snow even at temperatures below -30°C, while also preventing the windshield and water accumulation areas from freezing again. It leaves the glass clean and streak-free after use. 4. Maintain consistent temperatures inside and outside the car. After using the car for the day, don't lock it and leave immediately. Instead, open the doors to ventilate and wait until the interior temperature matches the outside temperature (about a minute). Then, turn on the power and use the wipers to brush off any remaining snow or water on the windshield before closing the doors and locking the car.
