How to Deal with Wet Sound Insulation Cotton in Cars?

If the sound insulation cotton in the car chassis gets wet, it needs to be replaced with new insulation cotton. The wetness of the insulation cotton is definitely caused by incomplete sealing of the vehicle body. Check if the sealing strips are aged, cracked, or incomplete, leading to water leakage due to poor sealing. Also, inspect whether the drainage holes on both sides of the sunroof are blocked. When water reaches a certain level, it will flow along the roof to the sealing strips and eventually onto the floor insulation cotton.
I've encountered the issue of wet car soundproofing cotton twice. The first time, I lacked experience and thought simply sun-drying would suffice, but it ended up molding, leaving a sour odor in the car. Now I know better: immediate action is required. First, remove the soaked cotton, repeatedly press and absorb the water with absorbent towels, then use an industrial fan to blow cold air overnight. Avoid direct sunlight! High temperatures can damage the material. After drying, inspect for leaks. Last time, my car's issue was due to deformed door seals, which I fixed by reapplying sealant to the gaps. It's advisable to keep some dehumidifier boxes in the car, especially in southern rainy seasons, and frequently open windows for ventilation.
