Use a wet cloth dipped in fine sand to scrub the glass window, which can easily remove lime spots. Apply gypsum powder or chalk dust mixed with water on the glass, and after drying, wipe it clean with a cloth to make the glass bright and clear. If the glass turns black over time, use a fine cloth dipped in toothpaste to wipe it, and it will shine like new.

Last time, a layer of white water scale built up on my car's windshield, which really obstructed my view. I mixed white vinegar and water from the kitchen in a 1:1 ratio and sprayed it on the glass, letting the vinegar dissolve the scale for about three to five minutes. Then, I used a microfiber cloth to scrub in circular motions. For stubborn spots, I repeated the process a few times and finally rinsed with clean water, leaving no streaks. It's best to avoid parking in areas where sprinklers are active. After rain, remember to run the wipers a few times. I always keep glass cleaner in my car and wipe the windshield after washing the car, so water scale doesn’t get a chance to accumulate.

My neighbor Old Zhang's car was parked under a tree, and the windshield had severe water stains. He taught me to mix edible alkali with warm water into a paste, wear rubber gloves, and apply it directly to the water stains. Then, gently scrub with an old toothbrush for two minutes for immediate results. Be sure to wear protective goggles during the process to avoid splashing into the eyes. After rinsing, use a clean chamois to dry the glass. Spend an extra minute wiping the edges of the glass during weekly car washes, as dirt tends to accumulate there. This method is both cost-effective and eco-friendly, using materials readily available in my kitchen.

After ten years in auto detailing, I've found that windshields in hard water areas are prone to frost-like water stains. It's recommended to purchase professional glass cleaning paste, apply it directly to stubborn scale spots, let it sit for two minutes, then use a glass polishing sponge to wipe in unidirectional straight lines. Avoid the rain sensor area during treatment, and apply even pressure to prevent scratching the glass. The best results are achieved in hot weather. Applying a glass coating agent monthly forms a protective layer, making the windshield clean with just a rinse of rainwater.
