How to Deal with Sticky Aging Car Interior?

Depending on the material and color of the ceiling, light-colored fabrics can be cleaned with seat cleaner. First, lay the seats down and cover them with a towel or seat cover to prevent water or cleaner dripping from the ceiling from staining the interior. Then, fill a spray bottle with a diluted mixture of water and cleaner, and spray it onto the ceiling. Wait for the cleaner to foam slightly, then gently brush with a soft brush using light pressure. Otherwise, it may cause pilling or damage the fabric.
Last time, the interior of my car became sticky and uncomfortable to touch. After consulting a few experienced drivers, I learned it was due to plastic aging and oxidation, possibly caused by prolonged exposure to sunlight or contact with grease. I first used alcohol wipes to gently clean the sticky areas, which worked well and reduced the stickiness. For more severe cases, it's recommended to use a dedicated car interior cleaner, spray it on, and wipe it off with a soft cloth. Avoid using highly corrosive substances to prevent damage. After cleaning, applying some plastic protectant can help prevent further aging. Try to park in shaded areas, use a sunshade to reduce UV damage, and clean the interior regularly to prevent this issue. This way, driving becomes smoother and more worry-free.
