How to Deal with Resonance and Gurgling Noise Caused by Timing Belt?
1 Answers
Adjust the tensioner pulley, install balancing weights, and replace the engine mounts. Below are some solutions for the resonance and gurgling noise issue: 1. Symptom: A gurgling sound can be heard inside the cabin when the engine is idling. 2. Analysis: During idling, the tensioner pulley pointer swings left and right, indicating the need to adjust the belt tension. This causes the belt to vibrate and produce a gurgling sound, which may vary in intensity depending on the vehicle model and belt tension. 3. Solution: At the vibration point between the two pulleys at the top, gently press a screwdriver or wrench against the belt while idling. Additionally, install an extra pulley between the two pulleys to counteract the vibration.
