How to Deal with Overloaded Vans?
1 Answers
Penalties for overloading a van depend on the nature of the vehicle. Any vehicle exceeding the approved passenger capacity by more than 20% is considered overloaded and will be penalized according to the new traffic regulations. The new regulations have increased the penalty points for serious traffic violations involving overloading of key vehicle types: 1. Commercial passenger vehicles: Driving a commercial passenger vehicle exceeding the approved capacity by more than 20% results in 12 penalty points. 2. Commercial passenger vehicles below 20%: Driving a commercial passenger vehicle exceeding the approved capacity by less than 20%, or driving other passenger vehicles exceeding the approved capacity by more than 20%, results in 6 penalty points. 3. Passenger vehicles: Driving passenger vehicles other than commercial passenger vehicles or school buses exceeding the approved capacity by less than 20% results in 3 penalty points.
