How to Deal with Brake Pulling?
1 Answers
Methods to address brake pulling: Uneven braking force between the left and right sides of the same axle, asynchronous braking caused by inconsistent clearance between the rear brake shoes and brake drums, or differences in contact area can also lead to uneven braking force on both sides. When encountering this phenomenon, adjust the left and right brake clearance according to specifications or polish the contact surface of the brake shoes. Different braking torque on the left and right sides of the same axle can cause unilateral braking. Common causes include leaking brake wheel cylinders, rusted pistons, oil-contaminated drum brake shoes, or different surface roughness between the brake disc and pads or drum and shoes. Troubleshoot accordingly during inspection. Uneven tire pressure, tread patterns, or wear levels on both sides can result in different actual rolling radii of the wheels, leading to unequal straight-line travel distances. This condition can cause the vehicle to pull to one side even when not applying the brakes.
