How to Deal with Abnormal Tire Pressure Signal in BYD Song Max?
2 Answers
BYD Song Max abnormal tire pressure signal is caused by abnormal tire pressure, unreset tire pressure monitoring, or damaged tire pressure sensor. The tire pressure monitoring indicator is a yellow symbol, an irregular circle without a seal on top, with four small spikes at the bottom and an exclamation mark inside. The illumination of the tire pressure monitoring indicator indicates abnormal tire pressure. Abnormal tire pressure: Generally, an alarm will be triggered if the pressure is below 1.8 bar or above 3.0 bar. In this case, tire inspection and pressure adjustment are required. Tire pressure monitoring not reset: After inflating the tires, if the tire pressure is not reset in time, the tire pressure monitoring system will still record the previous data, causing the tire pressure monitoring indicator to light up. Simply perform a tire pressure reset in this situation. Damaged tire pressure sensor: The tire pressure sensor is used to monitor tire pressure and is directly installed inside the tire, connected to the tire inflation port. If the tire pressure sensor is damaged due to impact while driving, the tire pressure warning light will also illuminate. For sensor damage issues, only replacement with a new component is possible.
I also experienced a tire pressure signal warning when driving my Song MAX, which is quite common. First, park the car and manually measure the pressure of each tire with a tire pressure gauge to confirm if it's actually low. If the pressure is normal, go to the central control system and click the reset tire pressure monitoring option, then drive a short distance on the highway to let it automatically update the signal. Often, this issue arises from the sensor battery running out or signal interference from metal obstacles in parking lots. Last time, my sensor battery was dead, and replacing it only cost a little over 50 yuan. Usually, try to avoid parking near interference sources like transformers, and regular checks can reduce such incidents. Ignoring abnormal tire pressure doubles the risk when driving on highways, so it's best to address it promptly. If the alarm still flashes after resetting, it's recommended to go straight to the 4S shop to scan for fault codes—they handle repairs professionally, so don't try to fix it yourself. Safety first; small issues shouldn't be taken lightly.
