Drive the car to the starting position line, ensuring the steering wheel is straight. Shift into "reverse gear," observe the starting dashed line through the angle between the left rearview mirror and the car body, and slowly release the clutch. Hold the steering wheel turned fully to the right and shift your gaze to the right rearview mirror.
When you turn the steering wheel too late during right reverse parking, the car body may get too close to the right line or pillar. Don't panic in this situation. Every time I encounter this, I immediately brake to stop and check the position. If it feels too close to the right, I turn the steering wheel half a turn or a full turn to the left, then slowly reverse while observing the rearview mirror to let the rear of the car gradually shift left for adjustment. If the adjustment doesn't go smoothly, I gently shift into drive gear, move forward a bit, and reposition to ensure the rearview mirror aligns with the reference point. Practice several times to find the balance between the car's turning radius and steering wheel sensitivity. During reverse parking, move slowly to give yourself space for corrections, such as simulating late steering scenarios in an open area. Reverse parking sensors or cameras can also be a great help in seeing the corners clearly, reducing the occurrence of such issues.
