How to Correct Left Side Being Too Wide When Reversing into the Garage?

When reversing into the garage, it's crucial to maintain a steady speed, especially when backing in from the right side. If the distance between the car body and the right front corner is wider than three fingers, there's no need to adjust the steering wheel. If it's narrower, turn the steering wheel back half a turn. Once you see the right rear corner, immediately check the left rearview mirror. As soon as you spot the left bottom corner, straighten the wheel immediately, then gradually fine-tune the direction.
When you find the left side too wide during left reverse parking, this is quite common, mainly because the right side of the car is too close to the obstacle. I recommend you immediately turn the steering wheel to the left to adjust, moving the car slightly to the left. At this time, the speed must be slowed down, and continuously observe the left gap with the rearview mirror. Once it feels appropriate, return to the straight position and continue reversing. Before reversing, it's best to predict the entry angle. If the parking space is to the left, position the car slightly to the right at the start, making the body enter more to the right, so there will be fewer problems during reversing. During regular practice, find a safe place to simulate and try a few times to get the hang of it. Speeding or turning the steering wheel too late can easily lead to this situation. Remember, safety first. If unsure, back out and try again.
