The cooling process uses refrigerant as a heat carrier through a refrigeration cycle for cooling and dehumidification. The refrigeration cycle can be summarized into four processes: compression, heat release, throttling, and heat absorption. After these four processes, the air conditioning refrigeration system completes one cooling cycle. The refrigeration system continuously repeats this cycle with the refrigerant to achieve the cooling effect.

Cooling with the Cadillac XTS's air conditioning is simple. After starting the car, press the AUTO button on the control panel, and it will automatically adjust the cooling based on the interior temperature. If it's not cool enough, just turn the temperature knob to lower the number, for example, to around 20 degrees. I prefer using the ventilation function for a few minutes with the windows open to let out the hot air inside before closing the windows and turning on the cooling. This method cools the car faster and saves fuel. If the car has been parked under the sun for too long in summer and feels like an oven, I remotely start the car ten minutes in advance to let the air conditioning work, making it comfortable when I get in. Remember to check the air conditioning filter every month for dust blockage, as a clogged filter can reduce cooling efficiency. Replacing it isn't expensive and keeps the air fresh, making for a pleasant drive.

To cool down the Cadillac XTS, simply turn the temperature control dial to set a lower temperature. After starting the car, locate the AC or AUTO button on the climate control panel, and the system will automatically deliver cool air. I usually alternate between using the recirculation and fresh air modes. On hot days, I use recirculation to keep the cool air inside the car for faster cooling, and switch to fresh air mode on highways for ventilation to prevent stuffiness. If the airflow is weak or there's no cool air, it might be due to low refrigerant levels—visit a professional shop for a quick top-up and repair. Regular maintenance helps reduce malfunctions. Keep a sunshade in the car to cover the windows when parked, preventing excessive interior heat buildup and reducing AC energy consumption.

The Cadillac XTS cooling button is located in the center of the dashboard. After pressing AUTO, turn the temperature knob downward to lower the temperature, and the air volume will automatically adjust, which is very convenient. Every time I start the car, I directly set it to a comfortable cooling level. The central control screen allows you to choose between internal and external circulation modes to improve efficiency. Occasionally, if the air conditioning is not cooling, check if the filter is dirty or if there is a refrigerant leak in the cooling system. Addressing small issues promptly can save on major repair costs and ensure a safe and comfortable driving experience.
