Connect and pair your phone with the car's system using the original USB cable; After connecting your phone, Carplay (China version) will automatically pop up. To exit, click the [GEELY] icon; Enable USB debugging on your phone, then launch the interconnect software on the car's system. Your phone will display a message: "Connection successful, please operate via the car's system"; The interconnect home page will appear. Use the phone mirroring function to map your phone's features, allowing you to connect your phone's navigation to the car's display screen.

Connecting the navigation system in my Wuling Victory is actually quite simple. If the car comes with a built-in navigation system, just tap the globe icon on the central control screen, and the system will use BeiDou or GPS for positioning. Most owners prefer connecting their smartphones for navigation—Apple phones via CarPlay and Android phones via Baidu CarLife+. Remember to use the original data cable and plug it into the USB port under the central console, not the charging port. After pairing your phone’s Bluetooth with the car’s Bluetooth, select the 'Projection' mode to display your phone’s map on the car’s large screen. One detail to note: it’s best to upgrade the car’s system to the latest version, or it might not connect. Before my last long trip, I even turned on the hotspot in the car settings for more accurate real-time traffic updates. After connecting, remember to adjust the navigation volume in the sound settings, or it might get drowned out by the music.

As a frequent construction site visitor and Wuling owner, my Capgemini primarily relies on Baidu CarLife for navigation. First, start the vehicle and locate the 'Connectivity Settings' on the central control screen, then select Baidu CarLife+. Next, open the Baidu CarLife app on your phone and connect it to the USB port under the central control panel with data transfer functionality (usually the first one on the left) using a data cable. The car's system will automatically pop up an authorization request—just click confirm. For those who prefer wireless connections, you can purchase a CarLife wireless dongle, though the factory-installed system can sometimes be unstable. If you encounter connection issues, try restarting the system by pressing and holding the volume knob for 10 seconds. Additionally, it's advisable to set up your navigation before driving, as operating it while on the road is too dangerous. The Capgemini's steering wheel has a voice button on the right side—holding it down activates the voice assistant to input your destination, which is much more convenient than manual entry.

The Wuling Victory navigation system operates in two scenarios. For high-end models with factory-installed navigation, simply tap the navigation icon on the central control screen to use it directly, and remember to update the map package in the settings. For standard models, smartphone connectivity is more commonly used: Apple users should prepare a Lightning to USB cable and enable CarPlay in the vehicle settings; Android users need to download the Baidu CarLife app. The key is to enable USB debugging mode on the smartphone, which varies by device. During connection, the vehicle system will generate a QR code, and you can bind by scanning it with your phone. You can save frequently visited locations to 'My Favorites' for quick access during future navigation. A handy tip: adjust the navigation volume separately in the vehicle settings to avoid interference from music. After six months of use, it's advisable not to overload the vehicle's storage space, as this can cause navigation lag.
