Hey, I'm also a 2021 MG5 owner. Connecting CarPlay is actually quite simple. First, make sure your iPhone is a newer model with the latest iOS version. Then locate the USB port below the center console screen in your car and connect your iPhone using the original USB cable. Your iPhone will automatically pop up a CarPlay prompt - just tap 'Allow'. Next, you'll see the Apple CarPlay icon on the car screen - select it to switch to the navigation and music interface. I use this daily for Spotify or navigation - super convenient and eliminates the risk of looking down at your phone. If you experience lag or connection issues, it might be due to an aging USB cable or the need to restart the infotainment system. Trying a new cable usually helps. Remember CarPlay only works with iPhones - Android phones can't use this feature at all.
