How to Connect Bluetooth for Older BMW 3 Series?

First, enable the Bluetooth function on both your mobile phone and the car's Bluetooth device. Then, set the phone's Bluetooth to 'Visible to All', 'Discoverable', or 'Open for Detection' in the Bluetooth settings. Search for Bluetooth devices on your phone. Once found, select it to pair and connect. The pairing password is 0000. After successful pairing, the connection will be established.
It took me several attempts to figure out how to connect Bluetooth in my old BMW 3 Series. First, start the car and turn on the iDrive system on the center console. Rotate the main control knob to find the phone settings menu and select 'Add new device.' At this point, quickly take out your phone, enable Bluetooth, and search for devices—you'll see one starting with 'BMW.' Tap to pair it. Enter the pairing code '0000' or '1234'; older cars usually don't require other passwords. After pairing, remember to click 'Confirm' in iDrive to authorize the connection. However, note that older models typically only support phone functions—if you want to listen to music, you'll need to use an AUX cable or buy a Bluetooth receiver plugged into the cigarette lighter port. The car's system is quite rigid; if it fails to connect, try restarting the infotainment system by holding the volume button for 10 seconds to restore factory settings.
