How to connect Apple CarPlay in Tiguan L?

Power on or start the motor vehicle, connect the mobile phone to the vehicle's infotainment system using the original data cable, and click the confirmation button on the mobile phone or the central control screen to complete the connection. After connection, mobile phone related functions can be used on the central control screen. CarPlay is an in-vehicle system developed by Apple Inc. in the United States and can only connect to iOS devices.
To connect the Apple CarPlay function in my Tiguan L, I usually use a USB cable, which feels pretty straightforward. First, make sure the car supports CarPlay—my Tiguan L has this feature. Then, prepare an Apple iPhone and connect it to the USB port under the center console in the car, ensuring you don’t plug it into the wrong port. Once connected, the car’s screen will prompt that a device is detected—just tap 'Trust' or authorize CarPlay. Finally, select the CarPlay mode on the screen to start. I’ve encountered issues where the screen didn’t respond, but later found it was due to a loose USB cable or outdated iPhone software, requiring re-plugging or a system update. The whole process takes just a few minutes, and it’s best done while parked to avoid distractions while driving. Once connected, navigation and music playback become much easier, especially when using maps on highways—it’s quite stable.
