How to Connect a Motorcycle Phone Charger?

Connect the two metal clips from the charger output—the red clip is the positive terminal and should be attached to the positive terminal of the battery; The black clip is the negative terminal and should be attached to the negative terminal of the battery.
Last time I modified my street bike, I also installed a charger. First, I had to choose a waterproof and shock-resistant USB charging port, then locate the motorcycle battery, which is usually under the seat. Removing the trim panel reveals the battery. The most critical part of wiring is distinguishing between the positive and negative terminals. The positive wire must be connected to the red terminal of the battery, and it’s best to confirm the voltage with a multimeter beforehand. I usually add a 10A fuse to prevent short circuits. The negative wire can be connected directly to the black terminal or any metal part of the frame as a ground. Route the wiring away from the exhaust pipe and moving parts, protect the harness with corrugated tubing, and secure it along the frame near the handlebars. It’s advisable to add a waterproof plug at the connection point. When testing after completion, remember to start the engine first to avoid draining the battery. Although this modification is simple, reversing the positive and negative terminals can damage the equipment, so always disconnect the power before working on it.
