How to Close the Sunroof on the Tiguan?

Tiguan sunroof closing method is to press and hold the sunroof close button for a few seconds, and the sunroof will close. When using the sunroof, try to avoid opening it on bumpy roads to prevent deformation of components due to excessive vehicle vibration. After two or three months of use, the sunroof should be cleaned by gently wiping it with gauze dipped in clean water. After drying, a small amount of lubricating oil can be applied, but do not use engine oil or butter. The Tiguan is Volkswagen's first domestically produced SUV. The vehicle's dimensions are 4506 mm in length, 1809 mm in width, and 1685 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2684 mm. In terms of safety features, the Tiguan comes standard with ESP body stability system, EBD electronic brake-force distribution, and ASR traction control. Some less common features such as EDS electronic differential lock, EPB electronic parking brake, auto hold function, and TPR tire pressure monitoring system have also become standard configurations on the Tiguan.
As a long-time owner of the Tiguan, my method for closing the sunroof is quite simple, mainly relying on the overhead control panel. First, locate the small rotary knob or button above the driver's seat: the part marked with the sunroof icon. Under normal circumstances, rotating the knob clockwise or gently pressing the close button will make the sunroof slide back and close slowly. If it gets stuck midway, don't force it—it might be due to dust on the sliding rails. I recommend regular cleaning of the rails; a simple wipe with a damp cloth can prevent malfunctions. Pay attention to the dashboard indicator light during operation—it will turn off once the sunroof is fully closed. Remember, if the sunroof isn't tightly closed, it's prone to leaks, especially on rainy days, so make sure to close it properly. Once, I had a leak and found out after inspection that it was due to poor switch contact, which was later fixed after an adjustment at the 4S shop. Overall, it's quite convenient, but daily maintenance shouldn't be neglected to avoid affecting the seal.
