How to Clean Car Fuel Injectors with Fuel System Cleaner?
1 Answers
Using a fuel system cleaner to clean car fuel injectors involves the following specific steps: 1. Hang the cleaner on the car's front hood, locate the engine's fuel supply and return lines, disconnect the return line from its connection point on the engine, and use an appropriate plug to block the return line; 2. Disconnect the fuel supply line from the engine's connection point, select a suitable adapter, and connect the fuel supply line to the cleaner's outlet line; 3. Open the fuel tank cap, remove the fuel pump fuse to stop the fuel pump from working; 4. Unscrew the cleaner bottle cap, add the fuel system cleaner into the storage bottle, tighten the cap, pull up the pressure regulator knob to the minimum position (rotate left to the end), connect the compressed air to the cleaner's air inlet, and slowly rotate the pressure regulator knob to the right to gradually increase the pressure; 5. Check the cleaner and all engine lines and connections for fuel leaks. If any leaks are found, immediately close the cleaner's fuel inlet valve and repair until no leaks occur; 6. Open the cleaner's fuel inlet valve, start the engine, and begin cleaning until all the cleaner is used up (approximately 20-30 minutes); 7. The car will automatically shut off when cleaning is complete. Turn the ignition key back to the OFF position; 8. Remove the cleaner's connections, reconnect the engine's fuel lines as they were originally, start the engine, and accelerate appropriately to check all connections and lines for fuel leaks.
