How to Clean Asphalt from a Car?
1 Answers
The main component of asphalt is hydrocarbons, which are insoluble in water but soluble in carbon disulfide. If asphalt sticks to your car, simply washing it with water won't remove it, and using tools to scrape it off can easily scratch the car's paint. There are two methods to clean asphalt from a car: 1. Use a tar and asphalt cleaner: First, rinse the asphalt stains on the car with tap water two or three times, then evenly apply the tar and asphalt cleaner to the stains. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, allowing the specialized cleaner to gradually penetrate and dissolve the asphalt dirt. Finally, gently wipe the asphalt off the car's surface with a cleaning cloth to completely remove the asphalt stuck to the car. 2. Use car wax: Car wax has excellent stain-removal properties, and the oils in the wax can quickly dissolve asphalt. Apply the car wax directly to the areas of the car body where the asphalt is located. Under the action of the wax, the stubborn asphalt will gradually fade or even disappear. Finally, rinse off the residual wax and dissolved asphalt from the car's surface with clean water and wipe it dry with a soft towel.
