How to Clean a KN Air Filter?

KN air filter cleaning method is as follows: 1. Tap the intake side of the KN filter to remove loose large particles, then use a brush for further cleaning; 2. Evenly spray KN-specific cleaner on the air filter element; 3. Rinse with low-pressure tap water, ensuring the water flows in the opposite direction of the intake; 4. After rinsing, shake off excess water and allow the KN filter to air dry naturally; 5. After about half an hour of natural drying, evenly apply maintenance oil, and the cleaning process is complete after 20 minutes. The air filter is a type of filter, also known as an air filter cartridge or air cleaner, and should be replaced approximately every six months or 10,000 kilometers.
Cleaning a K&N air filter is quite particular and requires special tools. First, remove the filter and purchase a bottle of K&N original cleaner. Spray it evenly on the filter media, applying more on particularly dirty areas, then wait 10 minutes for the oil and dirt to break down. Rinse with warm water, remembering to rinse from the inside of the filter outward, avoiding too strong a water flow. After rinsing, shake off excess water droplets and let it dry naturally in a shady place—avoid direct sunlight or using a hair dryer. Once completely dry, spray on the conditioner oil, applying just a thin layer. After spraying, gently spread it evenly with your hands, wait half an hour, and then reinstall it. I usually clean it every 5,000 kilometers, as excessive cleaning can damage the filter media.
