I chose the RAV4 for its space practicality and fuel efficiency. Its hybrid version only consumes 5-6 liters per 100km in the city, which is very economical. The Tiguan L's 2.0T engine has good power but higher fuel consumption, around 11 liters per 100km in urban areas. The RAV4's trunk is more neatly organized and easier to pack luggage, while the Tiguan L offers more legroom in the rear seats but its sloping roofline makes loading bulky items inconvenient. In terms of maintenance, Toyota is more worry-free, with minor services costing just a few hundred yuan, while Volkswagen parts are about 20% more expensive. Additionally, the RAV4's seats are softer and more comfortable for long drives without causing back pain, whereas the Tiguan L's suspension is tuned to be stiffer, making bumps over speed bumps more noticeable. If you frequently take family road trips, the RAV4 is a great fit.
