How to Check Transmission Fluid Level?
1 Answers
Check transmission fluid level by following these steps: 1. Park the vehicle on a level and straight road surface; 2. Start the engine and warm it up until the coolant temperature reaches above 90°C, keeping the engine running. Let the engine idle for several minutes; 3. Shift the gear lever from P position sequentially through all gear positions and return to P. Depress the brake pedal, move the shift lever to reverse P, drive D, etc., pausing for a few seconds in each position to allow the torque converter and all shift actuators to fill with hydraulic fluid. Finally, shift to park P position to ensure fluid enters the valve body and corresponding oil passages; 4. Pull out the automatic transmission dipstick from the filler tube, fully reinsert the cleaned dipstick, then remove it again to check the fluid level. The level should be near the upper mark on the dipstick, ensuring it stays between the upper and lower marks.
