How to check the water temperature gauge on the Roewe RX5?

The water temperature gauge of the Roewe RX5 can be viewed on the lower right side of the vehicle's dashboard. Taking the 2020 Luxury Edition Roewe RX5 as an example, its body dimensions are: length 4571mm, width 1855mm, height 1719mm, with a wheelbase of 2708mm. The 2020 Luxury Edition Roewe RX5 features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a longitudinal trailing arm semi-independent rear suspension. It is equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum horsepower of 173PS, a maximum power of 127kW, and a maximum torque of 275Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
When driving the Roewe RX5, the first thing I do after starting the engine is to glance at the coolant temperature gauge. The dial is positioned in the middle or on the right side of the instrument panel, featuring a small thermometer icon, with the needle typically displaying between C (Cold) and H (Hot). After driving normally for a few minutes, the needle should stabilize in the middle zone, around 90 degrees, indicating the engine is at the optimal temperature for smooth operation. If the needle drifts toward the H side, it means the coolant temperature is too high, possibly due to insufficient coolant or a malfunctioning fan. In such cases, it's crucial to slow down and pull over immediately to prevent the engine from overheating and damaging components. During a cold start in winter, the needle may initially stay in the C zone but should rise after driving for a while. Developing a habit of regularly checking this gauge is beneficial—the Roewe RX5's layout is intuitive, making it easy even for beginners. Additionally, it's advisable to periodically check the coolant level to avoid unexpected issues that could disrupt your trip.
