How to Check the Tire Pressure Monitoring in Sagitar?

The Sagitar's tire pressure monitoring system does not have a separate air pressure display. When the air pressure exceeds the standard value, a yellow light will appear on the dashboard. The tire pressure monitoring indicator light indicates abnormal tire pressure. Tire pressure monitoring involves real-time automatic monitoring of tire pressure during driving, with alerts for tire leaks and low pressure to ensure driving safety. There are three commonly used tire pressure monitoring methods: Direct Tire Pressure Monitoring: The direct tire pressure monitoring device uses pressure sensors installed in each tire to directly measure tire pressure. It transmits pressure information from inside the tire to a central receiver module via a wireless transmitter, then displays the pressure data for each tire. The system automatically alerts when the tire pressure is too low or there is a leak. Indirect Tire Pressure Monitoring: When the pressure in a tire decreases, the vehicle's weight causes the rolling radius of that wheel to become smaller, resulting in a faster rotation speed compared to other wheels. By comparing the differences in rotation speeds between tires, the system monitors tire pressure. The indirect tire pressure alert system essentially relies on calculating the rolling radius of the tires to monitor pressure. Introduction to Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): It combines the advantages of the two systems above. Direct sensors are installed in two diagonally opposite tires, along with a 4-wheel indirect system. Compared to using only a direct system, this hybrid system can reduce costs and overcome the limitation of indirect systems, which cannot detect simultaneous low pressure in multiple tires. However, it still cannot provide real-time data on the actual pressure in all four tires, as a direct system can.
I've been driving the Sagitar for several years and know how to check the tire pressure monitoring system easily. After starting the car, without stepping on the accelerator, just look at the multifunction display in the center of the dashboard. There are many menu options, such as fuel consumption, navigation, etc. You need to use your finger or the buttons on the steering wheel to navigate to 'Vehicle Information' or 'Settings,' then select 'Tire Pressure Status.' If the system detects everything is normal, it will display the actual pressure values for each tire; if not, it will automatically light up a yellow warning light to prompt a check. Remember, tire pressure tends to be higher in summer and lower in winter. Keeping it within the Sagitar manual's recommended range of 2.3-2.5 bar is safer. Incorrect tire pressure not only increases fuel consumption but also raises the risk of a blowout. I recommend checking it at least once a month and confirming it before trips for peace of mind. If the warning light comes on, don’t panic—just drive to a professional shop to calibrate the sensors or add air as needed.
