The new Volvo XC60 features an electronic oil dipstick, which requires checking the oil level through the oil level option in the vehicle's computer menu. The older XC60 models use a traditional electronic dipstick. After turning off the engine, let it sit level for 15 minutes, then open the engine compartment to check the dipstick. The optimal oil level is between the lower and upper marks. At this point, the engine oil quantity is appropriate. More details are as follows: 1. Like conventional dipsticks, electronic oil dipsticks also have upper and lower limits marked. If the oil level is close to the lower limit, it doesn't indicate the oil quantity in the oil pan but merely shows that the oil level is approaching the minimum of the normal range.
