How to Check the National Emission Standard Level?

Methods to check the national emission standard level are: 1. Look at the vehicle's environmental protection label, which has a clear mark on the back; 2. Log in to the website of the Motor Vehicle Exhaust Pollution Supervision and Management Center to inquire; 3. Bring the original or a copy of the motor vehicle registration certificate to the vehicle management office for inquiry; 4. If it is a new car, you can find the vehicle's factory certificate and check inside; 5. For used cars, you can use the vehicle model number to inquire on the environmental protection website. The national emission standard level refers to the national motor vehicle pollutant emission standards, which set limits on the content of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter in vehicle exhaust. The higher the number, the stricter the standard, and the relatively lighter the pollution from exhaust emissions.
There are many ways to check the China emission standard, but my favorite is to directly look at the vehicle's own documents. The vehicle conformity certificate clearly states the emission standard, which can be found in the stack of documents provided by the 4S dealership when you picked up the car. The vehicle registration certificate (big green book) is also crucial—just flip to the second page, and the emission information is clearly printed in the designated section. If these documents are lost, it becomes a bit troublesome, but you can still check the environmental protection label that was once pasted on the windshield—although it's now replaced with an electronic label, the older paper version, if preserved, will indicate the China emission standard. As a last resort, you can visit the vehicle management office to check the archival system. Bring your vehicle license and ask the staff—the system contains the original records. This basic method doesn’t rely on the internet and is especially useful for older cars, as some 20-year-old vehicles may even have difficulty with VIN code recognition.
