How to Check the Car Oil Dipstick?

To check the car oil dipstick, follow these steps: 1. The oil tank is generally located near the engine. Locate the oil dipstick on top of the oil tank. 2. The car must be parked on level ground with the engine off when pulling out the oil dipstick for measurement. 3. Pull out the dipstick. There is a textured area at the end with upper and lower lines. First, wipe the dipstick clean, then reinsert it and pull it out again. The oil level is acceptable as long as it falls between the upper and lower lines. If the oil level is above the upper line, it indicates too much oil; if it's below the lower line, it means there's insufficient oil.
