How to Check if Tire Pressure is Normal on the Dashboard?
2 Answers
Check if there is a SET button next to the gear lever. Press it if available. First, inspect the tire pressure of all four tires to ensure they are at the normal level. Test whether the tire pressure monitoring function is successfully activated. The tire pressure monitoring indicator light will illuminate on the dashboard, indicating that the function has been successfully activated. If the vehicle has tire pressure monitoring, it will be displayed on the dashboard.
Having driven for over a decade, the most important thing to check on the dashboard is that exclamation mark-like tire pressure icon. It shouldn't be lit during normal driving—if it suddenly lights up or flashes, it usually means one of the tires is low on air. Some newer car dashboards can even display specific values. For example, in my car, pressing the button on the right side of the steering wheel switches to the tire pressure page, and as long as all four wheels are between 220-250, it's safe. Don't panic if the readings are slightly low when starting the car cold—they'll stabilize after driving 3-5 kilometers as the temperature rises. However, anything below 190 or above 280 is problematic. Don't forget to check the spare tire pressure at least once every two months—it's easy to overlook.
