How to Check if ETC is Successfully Activated?

Methods to check ETC activation status: View through the ETC Assistant mini-program, which will display an activation success notification upon completion; Alternatively, remove and reinsert the card into the device - for debit cards, the device will display "card" or "debit card", while prepaid cards will show the balance, indicating successful ETC activation. ETC working principle: Utilizing dedicated short-range communication between the on-board unit (OBU) installed on the vehicle's windshield and microwave antennas at toll station ETC lanes, the system employs computer networking technology for backend bank settlement processing. This enables vehicles to pass through highway or bridge toll stations without stopping while automatically paying the required fees. ETC installation positions: For small vehicles like cars and minivans, the OBU device should be installed on the upper-middle section of the front windshield. For large vehicles such as trucks and buses, the installation position should be on the lower-middle section. ETC installation requirements: Minimum height of 1.2 meters, maximum of 2.5 meters; Installation angle N should be between 30º and 90º (the angle between the electronic tag surface and the horizontal plane).
Every time I install an ETC device in my car, I can't wait to test if it's really activated. Generally, the most reliable method is to download the official app, such as ETC Assistant, enter my card number to check the status, and feel at ease when it shows 'Activation Successful'. If I'm too lazy to use the app, I can drive to the ETC lane at the highway entrance and test it by passing through without slowing down—green light means it's working. Of course, there are minor hiccups; the first time, I encountered a status delay and had to call customer service at 95022 to verify with my card number. It's also advisable to double-check if the account binding is correct after verification to avoid payment issues next time. This method ensures safety without causing delays—a trick I've picked up from years of driving.
