Methods to check if ETC activation is successful: View through the ETC Assistant mini-program, which will prompt "Activation Successful" upon success; Alternatively, remove and reinsert the card into the device—if it displays "card" or "prepaid card" for a debit card, or shows the balance for a stored-value card, it indicates the ETC is activated. How ETC Works: Via dedicated short-range communication between the onboard electronic tag installed on the vehicle's windshield and the microwave antenna in the ETC lane at toll stations, the system uses computer networking technology to process backend settlements with banks. This enables vehicles to pass through highway or bridge toll stations without stopping while automatically deducting the toll fees. ETC Installation Positions: For small vehicles like cars and vans, the OBU device is installed on the upper-middle part of the front windshield. For large vehicles like trucks and buses, it is installed on the lower-middle section. ETC Installation Requirements: Height must be no lower than 1.2 meters and no higher than 2.5 meters; The installation angle N should be between 30º and 90º (the angle between the electronic tag surface and the horizontal plane).
