How to Check if a Spark Plug is Good or Bad?
1 Answers
Methods to check the quality of a spark plug: 1. Inspect whether the spark plug gap meets the requirements and check for contamination and carbon deposits on the spark plug skirt; 2. Check if the side electrode is damaged and if the center electrode is leaking electricity, and inspect whether the spark plug insulator is cracked or damaged; 3. Check for looseness and air leakage between the insulator core and the shell, examine if the spark plug sealing gasket is leaking air, and perform a spark test. The spark plug, commonly known as a sparking plug, functions to discharge the high-voltage pulses sent through the high-tension lead, breaking down the air between the two electrodes to generate an electric spark, thereby igniting the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder. The main types of spark plugs include: standard spark plugs, projected insulator spark plugs, electrode spark plugs, seat spark plugs, pole spark plugs, surface gap spark plugs, etc.
