How to charge the Passat PHEV?

You can charge it directly by plugging into a 220V-10A socket, which charges about 1.6 kWh per hour. When using the provided portable charger, it didn't charge. This portable charger requires a socket with a grounded connection to charge properly.
Charging the Passat PHEV is quite straightforward, and I've personally used several methods. The most common is the home charging station—first, plug the charging gun into the charging port at the rear of the car, making sure you hear a click to confirm it's locked. Then, set the scheduled charging time on the charging station; I usually set it to charge automatically during off-peak hours when electricity rates are lower. The portable charger that comes with the car also works—just plug it into a standard 220V socket, though a full charge takes about seven to eight hours. Public charging stations are even more convenient; State Grid's DC fast charger can replenish most of the battery in just half an hour. The car's central display shows the charging progress in real time, and it's recommended to stop at 80% for better battery health. Don’t forget to close the charging port cover to prevent water ingress during rainy weather.
