How to Change Engine Oil?
1 Answers
Here are the detailed steps for changing engine oil: 1. Use a jack to lift the front end of the vehicle, or place the vehicle on a bridge stand (a simple one will suffice), making it convenient for personnel to access the underside for operation. 2. Remove the underbody guard plate to expose the oil filter and drain plug. 3. Unscrew the drain plug on the oil pan. Be cautious as oil may spray out suddenly and could be hot. Position an oil container beneath the vehicle to collect the old oil. 4. Remove the old oil filter by turning it counterclockwise using a tool. 5. Apply a layer of oil to the rubber ring around the edge of the new oil filter, then install it back in its original position. Subsequently, screw the drain plug back in, ensuring not to overtighten to prevent thread damage. 6. Before adding new oil, ensure the oil filler port is clean to prevent foreign objects from entering the engine. Then add the new oil, referring to the vehicle's manual for the correct quantity. 7. Finally, pull out the oil dipstick, wipe the body clean with a tissue, reinsert it into the engine, then pull it out again to check the oil level on the dipstick. The proper oil level should be between the minimum and maximum marks on the dipstick.
