To cancel the eco display on a Mercedes-Benz: It automatically cancels when the vehicle speed exceeds 20 km/h. The eco is a green driving mode indicator, which comes in passive and active forms. Its function is to evaluate in real-time whether the driver's behavior meets green driving standards, without affecting the vehicle's performance. The dimensions of the new Mercedes-Benz are 5024mm in length, 1854mm in width, and 1477mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3014mm. The new Mercedes-Benz is equipped with two types of engines: one is a 2.0T turbocharged engine, with the low-power version producing a maximum horsepower of 184ps and a maximum torque of 300nm, and the high-power version producing a maximum horsepower of 245ps and a maximum torque of 370nm. The other is a 3.0T twin-turbocharged engine, with a maximum horsepower of 272ps and a maximum torque of 400nm.

I also researched this when I was driving the E-Class. The ECO display on the Mercedes dashboard indicates that the economy mode is active. The simplest way to cancel it is to switch driving modes: find the metal paddle driving mode selector on the steering wheel and flick it to the right for Comfort or Sport mode. If your model doesn’t have a physical button, go to the central control screen, enter Vehicle Settings, and switch driving modes there. Another more thorough method is to completely disable the ECO function in the vehicle settings, but be aware that fuel consumption will increase after turning it off. I prefer simply switching modes—ECO kept popping up to remind me I was pressing the accelerator too hard, which was quite annoying. After turning it off, the dashboard looks much cleaner.

The ECO indicator is Mercedes-Benz's economy mode light. There are actually two ways to disable its display. The basic method is to turn the driving mode selector behind the steering wheel to any mode other than ECO. For a more advanced approach, you can operate through the MBUX system: enter the settings menu, find the energy-saving related options, and there's an ECO display switch that can be turned off. However, I personally recommend not completely disabling the ECO function, as it genuinely helps save fuel—you're just turning off the display so it won't keep popping up on the instrument cluster. When driving my GLB, I kept the function active but disabled the display. This way, it doesn't affect fuel consumption statistics, nor does the indicator light interfere with my driving rhythm.

When the ECO indicator appears on a Mercedes-Benz, it signifies that the economy mode is activated. To turn off the display, simply rotate the circular drive mode selector located on the left rear side of the steering wheel from the ECO position to either C (Comfort) or S (Sport) mode. For newer models without a physical knob, you can change the mode through the vehicle settings on the central display screen. In fact, the dashboard automatically displays a green leaf icon in ECO mode, which disappears when you switch to other modes. I often encounter this situation with my C-Class, especially during city traffic jams when the ECO mode keeps popping up. Switching modes directly is much more convenient than navigating through the system menu for a long time.

If you encounter the situation where the ECO icon on the Mercedes dashboard keeps displaying, the simplest solution is to switch driving modes. Locate the silver round button near the steering wheel labeled with C/S/E, and turn it to the C position to cancel the ECO display. If you're driving the latest Mercedes model with a full touchscreen, you need to tap the vehicle icon to enter the menu and find the driving mode selection to switch. Don't worry about incorrect operations—switching modes won't cause any damage to the car. I remember being completely confused by the ECO display the first time I drove a Mercedes, and it took me a while to figure it out. Now, seeing the ECO icon has become a muscle memory—I instinctively reach for the knob to turn it.
