How to Calculate the Fuel Consumption of a Sedan?

Calculation method for a car's fuel consumption per 100 kilometers: The fuel consumption per 100 kilometers equals the fuel consumption (liters) divided by the driving distance (kilometers) multiplied by 100. The fuel consumption per 100 kilometers indicated in the manual of domestic cars is generally the constant-speed fuel consumption. Constant-speed fuel consumption refers to the fuel economy index when the car is driving at a constant speed on a good road surface. Several key technologies related to fuel consumption include three main aspects: 1. Vehicle weight: The relationship between vehicle weight and fuel consumption is directly proportional. For every 10% reduction in vehicle weight, fuel consumption will correspondingly decrease by several percentage points; 2. Car design: The car's design, with a smaller aerodynamic drag, will significantly reduce fuel consumption, and the relationship between these two is also directly proportional; 3. Road conditions: Driving conditions are an important factor affecting fuel consumption.
Calculating fuel consumption is actually quite simple. Here's what I do every time I refuel: First, fill up the tank until the pump automatically stops, and note the odometer reading, say 500 km. After driving 200-300 km, refill the tank completely and check the fuel dispenser to see how many liters were added this time, for example, 30 liters. Divide the amount of fuel added the second time by the kilometers driven between the two refuels, then multiply by 100 to get the fuel consumption per 100 km. For instance, if you drove 400 km and added 30 liters, the calculation would be 30÷400×100=7.5 liters/100 km. This method is the most accurate, far more reliable than the car's onboard computer display. Remember to refuel at the same gas station and in the same manner, as I've found that different stations' pump sensitivities can affect the data. Weather conditions also impact fuel consumption; using air conditioning in summer can increase it by 1-2 liters.
