Skoda Octavia rear axle disassembly method is as follows: 1. Unscrew the oil drain plug at the lower part of the axle housing to drain the lubricating oil, then remove the connecting bolts between the drive pinion flange and the drive shaft. 2. When removing the half-shaft, loosen and unscrew all half-shaft fastening nuts and washers. Gently strike the center of the half-shaft tail 2-3 times with a copper hammer to separate the half-shaft flange face from the hub connection surface, then pull the half-shaft flange by hand to extract the half-shaft. 3. Remove the rear brake hose and tee fitting, properly support the differential housing, remove the bolts connecting the differential housing to the rear axle, and take off the differential assembly from the axle housing. Disconnect the connections between the brake chamber hose and pipelines, remove the brake chamber, and detach the adjustment arm assembly. 4. Remove the hub, use a special socket to remove the hub adjustment nut. Slightly rotate the hub and brake drum assembly, use a puller to pull the hub outward while gently tapping the brake drum to loosen the outer bearing inner ring. Once the outer bearing inner ring is loose, remove the hub and brake drum assembly. 5. Use a puller to remove the inner bearing inner ring assembly and oil seal seat assembly, use a return spring removal tool to detach the brake return spring, and take out the camshaft. Use a wrench to remove the brake backing plate fastening bolts, take off the brake backing plate with shoe and dust cover assembly, remove the brake chamber bracket, and finally disassemble the axle housing assembly.
