How to Adjust When the Rearview Camera Captures the License Plate?

To adjust the angle of the rearview camera, it is necessary to calibrate or adjust it at a 4S shop. Input the distance from the camera center to the ground and the distance from the upper edge of the calibration board to the ground in the navigation system. You can also re-engage the reverse gear, find the settings button in the navigation device under the rearview camera mode, and then click to turn it off.
I've seen plenty of cases where rearview cameras capture license plates. This usually happens when the camera is mounted too low, with its lens pointing directly above the license plate frame. It's not hard to adjust – I've fixed it myself before. First, check the camera's mounting point inside the vehicle, typically located above the license plate or on the bumper. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the mounting screws, then gently tilt the camera upward. Make small adjustments at a time while having someone test the rearview image during reverse gear to ensure the license plate disappears from view while maintaining clear rear visibility. Tighten the screws securely afterward, as vibration during driving might otherwise loosen the angle and cause the plate to reappear, compromising reverse safety. After adjustment, manually test the rearview camera several times before driving to confirm stable performance with a wide, unobstructed view. For older or modified vehicles, the camera bracket might be unstable. In such cases, inspect for aging or deformation of the bracket and replace it with a new compatible one if necessary. Upgrading to a wide-angle lens can effectively prevent license plate visibility issues.
