How to Adjust the Wiper Angle?

Turn the key to ON, turn on the wipers, and let the wiper blades automatically return to the bottom of the windshield. Then turn off the wipers and the key. At the base of the wiper arm, remove the dust cover. Use an appropriate wrench or socket to loosen the screw. Then lift the wiper blade and gently shake it. Once it is loose, position the wiper blade to the desired location, tighten the screw, and replace the dust cover.
Adjusting the wiper angle isn't actually difficult—the key is to align it parallel to the windshield. I often do it myself by first ensuring the car is turned off and safely parked, then gently lifting the wiper arm to avoid contact with the glass surface. Next, use a screwdriver or wrench to loosen the screw securing the wiper arm—remember not to fully remove it, just loosen slightly for adjustment. Slowly rotate the arm by hand to the correct angle, typically ensuring the wiper blade fully conforms to the curvature of the glass. Once adjusted, immediately tighten the screw and perform a manual shake test to confirm stability. Then, spray some water and activate the wipers to check coverage—even distribution means it's correct. If the angle isn't properly set, it can lead to water-spotting dead zones or uneven noise, compromising driving visibility. During car washes, it's a good habit to check the angle and clean debris from both the glass and wiper blades—this can extend wiper lifespan by at least six months. I recommend performing simple quarterly maintenance to ensure clear and safe visibility.
