How to adjust the time on a B50?

First, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to power on the vehicle. There are buttons at the bottom left and right corners of the dashboard for quickly adjusting the time. The left button is the selection key—press it once to adjust the hours. The right button is the adjustment key—press it once to increase the value by one. Press the left button twice to adjust the minutes, and use the right button to add or subtract minutes until the correct time is set.
Last time when helping a friend adjust the time on his Besturn B50, I discovered a trick. There are two small buttons on the left side of the dashboard. After seeing the time display, press and hold the left button for 3 seconds, and the numbers will start blinking. Then, briefly press the right button to adjust the hour, and briefly press the left button to switch to adjusting the minutes. Remember to wait 5 seconds after adjusting for it to save automatically. Once, I turned off the car too quickly and had to readjust. The central control screen time is adjusted separately by entering the settings menu, finding the clock option, and setting it directly using the touchscreen. However, it's recommended to start the engine before doing this to avoid draining the battery. The auto-time function depends on the model year; if it's an older model without this feature, don't bother trying.
After driving the B50 for five years, I've adjusted the time three times, and it's actually quite simple. The two buttons behind the steering wheel are the key—the left one is called TRIP, and the right one is called ADJ. First, press the left button to switch the dashboard to the interface displaying mileage and temperature, then hold the right button until the numbers start flashing to adjust. For newer models with color screens, simply switch to the clock menu using the steering wheel buttons. A reminder: don’t operate it while driving; it’s safer to do so when the car is parked. If the 12-hour format shows AM/PM, try turning off the power and restarting the vehicle.
Adjusting the B50's time requires three steps: First, power on without starting the engine, and observe the time display at the bottom right of the instrument panel. Second, press and hold the left button on the dashboard until the time starts flashing. Third, use the right button to adjust the hours, then press the left button to switch to minute adjustment mode. Remember to pause for 2 seconds after each adjustment to allow it to confirm. Once in winter, the battery was weak and the adjustments weren't saved; I later found that keeping the engine idling ensures stability. For used cars, check if the previous owner set the correct time zone.
