How to Adjust the Tightness of Disc Brakes?
1 Answers
Here are the methods for adjusting the tightness of disc brakes: 1. Use a hex key to loosen the two hex screws on the caliper. Just loosen them, or you can completely unscrew them. Counterclockwise is to loosen, and clockwise is to tighten. 2. Unscrew the positioning screws. Use a T-shaped tool to unscrew the two positioning screws of the caliper. 3. Remove the caliper. Take out the caliper and use the hex key to unscrew the two hex screws that were loosened earlier. 4. Remove the brake pads. First, take out the screws, then remove the brake pads. 5. Flatten the pistons. Use a tool to flatten the two pistons of the caliper. If they are rusty, spray them with rust remover and then press them flat. 6. Install new brake pads. Put on the new brake pads, secure them with the two screws, and tighten them with the hex key. 7. Tighten the caliper positioning screws. Install the caliper onto the brake disc and tighten the two positioning screws.
