How to adjust the steering when the right side is wide and the left side is narrow while reversing into the garage?

When the rearview mirror shows a "left wide, right narrow" positional relationship, turn the steering wheel 1/4 turn to the left, and straighten the wheel when the car body is aligned. Reversing into the garage is an assessment point in the driver's test. It involves correctly maneuvering the vehicle into the garage from both sides while moving. There is a time limit for reversing into the garage during the test. Below are the evaluation criteria for reversing into the garage: 1. Failure to follow the prescribed route and sequence results in disqualification. 2. If the car body touches the line or fails to enter the garage while reversing, it results in disqualification. 3. Exceeding 210 seconds without completing the reversing into the garage results in disqualification. 4. Stopping midway deducts 5 points each time.
When I encounter a situation where the right side is wider and the left side is narrower while reversing, I adjust like this. If the car body is still tilted in the latter half of reversing, I stop, turn the steering wheel slightly to the left (about 90 degrees), and continue reversing a short distance until I feel the rear of the car moving left. Then, I quickly straighten the steering wheel. During this process, it's essential to observe the changes in distance on both sides through the rearview mirror and control the adjustment to avoid scraping. Once the gaps on both sides are nearly equal, I proceed to reverse completely. Remember to straighten the steering wheel promptly after adjustment; otherwise, the left side will become wider again. Move the steering wheel only a little each time, as too large an angle can easily lead to overcorrection.
