How to adjust the steering when the right side is too wide during right reverse parking?

Use the distance between the car body and the sideline as the correction standard. If the rear of the car is too close to the right sideline of the parking space, turn the steering wheel to the left to adjust. On the contrary, if it is too close to the left sideline of the parking space, turn the steering wheel to the right to adjust. Keep the car body parallel to the sideline of the parking space, and stop when the front line of the parking space appears at the position of the left rearview mirror.
I've been driving for decades and have encountered the issue of the right side being too wide when reversing into a parking space many times, mostly due to turning the steering wheel too early. How exactly should you correct the direction? Simply put, just turn the steering wheel slightly to the left—don’t make a big move, a small half-turn is enough. This will make the rear of the car swing to the right, filling in that wide gap. When operating, keep the speed slow, glance at the right rearview mirror a few times, and straighten the wheel once you see the gap narrowing. I remember when I was younger, I once turned the wheel too sharply while reversing and almost scraped the wall. Since then, I’ve developed the habit of calmly assessing the position first and making small adjustments. With enough practice, muscle memory will naturally form. Beginners are advised to find a safe place to practice repeatedly. A reversing radar can help, but don’t slack off with your eyes and ears—always ensure there are no obstacles behind you before moving. Garage space is limited, so just be patient.
