How to Adjust the Headlight Height of a Car?

Methods to adjust the headlight height of a car: 1. If there is a headlight height adjustment button inside the car, simply use the button to adjust; 2. If there is no headlight height adjustment button inside the car, you need to open the engine hood and adjust through the headlight assembly by turning the adjustment screws at the back of the headlight for mechanical adjustment; 3. Have a person about 180cm tall stand in front of the car, about 7.6 meters away, then turn on the low beam. The light should be just above the knees but below the hips. If it's above the hips, it's too high and needs to be lowered. If the car owner doesn't know how to do it, it's recommended to go to a 4S shop or a professional auto repair shop to have a technician adjust it.
When adjusting the headlight height, I usually park on a flat surface, preferably in a garage or an open area facing a wall, with the front of the car about 7-10 meters away from the wall. Measure the height of the headlight's center point, aiming to adjust the beam to be parallel to the ground or slightly lower. Then, open the hood and locate the adjustment screws at the back of the headlight, typically near the light assembly. Use a Phillips screwdriver to gently turn the screws; clockwise to lower and counterclockwise to raise. Turn half a turn each time, then get in the car to turn the lights on and off to observe the beam changes. Adjust one headlight at a time, ensuring symmetry. Safety note: Avoid setting them too high to avoid blinding oncoming traffic or too low to impair visibility. After adjustment, test drive at night to confirm. The whole process takes about 20 minutes, saving time and money.
