How to adjust the handbrake of BYD F3?

Open the center console and remove the two fixing screws inside, then loosen the handbrake cable fixing bolt to its most relaxed state. Start the engine in neutral and press the brake pedal several times. At this point, you can observe the previously stretched cable retracting. Begin tightening the handbrake cable fixing bolt. Generally, when the bolt is exposed by about 1CM, start testing the handbrake. After adjustment, release the handbrake, start the engine, press the brake pedal several times, turn off the engine, and get out of the car. If it doesn't feel very laborious, it indicates a good adjustment.
My BYD F3 also had a handbrake issue before—it was too loose to hold the car. Adjusting it isn’t too difficult: First, park the car securely, then pull the handbrake a few clicks to test the tension. If it feels too loose, it needs adjustment. Crawl under the car or jack up the rear wheels to locate the adjustment nut on the central cable. There’s usually a small access panel near the rear wheels or under the trunk—remove it to expose the nut. Tighten the nut clockwise, testing the handbrake after every half-turn until the wheels lock fully at around three clicks. It’s best to have a helper monitor the car or use wheel chocks on the front tires for safety. Check the handbrake regularly and adjust it immediately if it loosens—ignoring it risks dangerous rollaways. Just a wrench is needed, but never skip safety steps for convenience.
