How to Adjust the Gap of a Car Trunk?
1 Answers
Here are the methods to adjust the gap of a car trunk: 1. The trunk lid and hinges are usually secured by four screws. Open the trunk and loosen the top screw on each side of the hinges. 2. Gently push the trunk lid left or right and lower it to align until the gaps on both sides are roughly equal. Then, slightly open the trunk lid and tighten the screws. 3. If loosening one screw on each side does not achieve the desired adjustment, loosen all screws, adjust the position of the trunk lid, and then tighten the bottom screws on both sides. 4. Proceed with further position adjustments and finally tighten the top two screws. 5. After adjusting the trunk lid gap, test the trunk lock by opening and closing it multiple times. 6. Ensure the lock mechanism and latch align perfectly. If not, loosen the screws on the latch located on the rear panel to adjust its position, or use a hammer to tap the latch into alignment with the lock mechanism.
