How to Adjust the Angle of the Wiper Linkage Rod?

First, turn the key to the ON position, activate the wipers, then turn off the switch and the key. At the base of the wiper arm, remove the dust cover, use an appropriate wrench or socket to loosen the screw until it can be rotated. Then lift the wiper blade and gently shake it. Once it becomes loose, position the wiper blade to the desired angle, tighten the screw, and replace the dust cover.
Last time my wiper blades were misaligned, leaving gaps when wiping, so I adjusted the linkage myself. After parking and removing the key, find a suitable wrench or screwdriver, open the hood, and locate the connection point under the wiper arm. Loosen the fixing screw at the pivot but don’t remove it completely. Gently adjust the linkage angle while observing the position on the windshield until it aligns with the center point. Then tighten the screw and test it, repeating a few times to ensure the wiper blades cover the entire area without any strange noises. If the linkage angle is too off, it can accelerate wiper blade wear or even damage the glass, so fine-tuning is crucial—it usually takes about ten minutes. For regular maintenance, remember to clean the joints to prevent rust and sticking. It’s best to check the wiper system every six months, including ensuring the motor connection is secure.
