How to Adjust the Angle of Rearview Mirrors?
2 Answers
Best adjustment angle is when the road environment occupies most of the mirror surface, with only 1/4 of the car body visible, and the vanishing point of the road should be located in the center of the rearview mirror. Alternatively, the vanishing point of the road can be positioned at the top of the rearview mirror, while still showing only 1/4 of the car body.
I've been driving for many years and am very familiar with adjusting rearview mirrors. First, sit properly in the driver's seat and adjust the seat to a comfortable position before making adjustments. Adjust the interior mirror to directly see the entire central view of the rear window without any offset, ensuring a wide field of vision for easier reversing. For the side mirrors, tilt them at a small angle so that the edge of the mirror just shows a bit of the car's side, like the door handle, but don't block too much or it will create large blind spots, which is dangerous. Remember to adjust them several times when parked, testing under different lighting conditions to ensure clear visibility of vehicles behind. For manual cars, use the manual knob and turn slowly; electric buttons are much more convenient, located on the door or center console. Don't be lazy—check and adjust them before every trip. This little effort pays off with safer driving.
